La cérémonie d’accueil officielle a vu l’équipe Ecosse arriver à la cathédrale de Gloucester pour être accueilli par la chorale de l’école Valley Isbourne de Gloucestershire.
Intervenant lors de la cérémonie, le capitaine de l’ Ecosse Greig Laidlaw a dit: »Thank you very much for the warm welcome. It’s been months, even years, in preparation for Rugby World Cup 2015; now we’re ready to get started. I want to say a special thank you to the people of Gloucester; it’s great for me to be based here where I play. We know how much love Gloucester has for the game of Rugby. It’s very exciting for us, and it’s been brilliant to be welcomed here in the cathedral in the heart of the city. There’s a great pride and expectation in wearing the thistle, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all again next Wednesday »
